In short, our philosophy is to attain the highest possible quality sound on every project we work on. In a world of ever decreasing budgets we have found that by utilizing modern technology, we can actually give our staff MORE time to craft your project.
We are passionate about sound and wanted to make a business that could provide a very cost-efficient service without compromising the quality of the output. Our model is based on three principles:
- We use the internet and the technology available to strip away all the overheads of a traditional studio. Communication is actually increased with our staff who are always available on video or traditional calls. We can send you a stream of your work so that wherever you are you can review your work with full resolution sound with immediate changes. However, you are not limited to a web review. If you wish, we can arrange for you to sign your project off in person, with an engineer in a studio, anywhere in the world.
- Because we utilise the web we have the ability of being based away from major cities. This means the cost of living is reduced for our staff and broadcast standard studio costs are less as well. We also encourage our engineers to build home studios where they can work on the more basic jobs before finishing the project off in broadcast standard Pro Tools HD rooms. This makes your budget go much further and gives us the time to give your project the attention it deserves.
- We understand that staff are the difference between average or sublime work. That's why we have staff with a broad range of skills who are allocated to your project at the appropriate time. It's very difficult to get started in this business so we involve our junior engineers from a very early stage on the basic tasks. They can earn as they learn and we can pass the savings on to you. If you have a tiny budget then we can use our most junior engineers for the whole project in a home studio to help their learning curve. We pride ourselves in teaching them how to work quickly and to embrace the creative talent that got them invited to The Sound Town in the first place. To guarantee the highest standards, every single project that we work on is thoroughly checked by one of the senior mixers.
If there is one thing we care about more than sound and looking after our clients and staff, it's the environment around us. For this reason we all use 'green energy' to power our studios which is generated 100% from renewable sources. We operate a paperless office when possible and only use recycled paper when not.
